The small fishing village of Katelios is located between the busy resorts of Skala and Lourdas, on the south east coast. It consists of a small harbour, a beach with several restaurants by the sea, gift shops, mini markets, and car rental.
Accommodation in Katelios is usually of good standard and is available in the many apartment complexes or studio blocks. Most of the complexes boast a range of facilities such as well stocked bars, restaurants, games rooms, mini golf, Jacuzzi and, of course, swimming pools.
As for the studio blocks, the facilities can be somewhat limited, however this should not be cause of concern as all the pools are open to the public and free to use as long as you use the pool bar. Nightlife in Katelios pretty much revolves around the restaurants and taverns, some with live entertainment, Greek dancing or barbeques; usually the most difficult decision you have to make is which one to go to!
Katelios was a very quiet place with only a few huts and quaint taverns. While not much has changed, buildings are more modern, there are more places to eat and drink etc. Katelios is still one of the quieter resorts and retains much of its former appeal. Whilst Katelios might not suit some, it remains a good place to relax and unwind.
Katelios has some of the best restaurants and apartment complexes around. The friendliness of the people here is sometimes overwhelming. The atmosphere is one of a small community going about its business with a ‘Kalimera’ here and there. This is a quiet and relaxing resort and if that’s what you’re looking for, this is a good place to be.
